Ms. Carmen Garcia has been an asset to Shenandoah Elementary for the past eight years. It is a pleasure to nominate her for the 2008-2009 Teacher of the Year Award. She is an outstanding member of our faculty and is a phenomenal Spanish teacher. She takes into account each child’s needs and addresses them. Her lessons are an experience to witness. The Nominating Committee and staff chose Ms. Garcia due to her selfless efforts to motivate and teach her students. She is an outstanding member of the community and serves in the capacity of a tutor when she is not teaching at Shenandoah. She is also currently pursuing her National Board Certification in World Languages (Spanish). Ms. Garcia is a dedicated educator who takes the utmost pride in her native language and strives to bring that culture and language to her students. She has taught them not only to comprehend the oral language, but also to read it, expand their vocabulary and learn its grammar. Ms. Garcia accomplishes all this in a very creative and enthusiastic matter. Her students and colleagues alike have great respect for her and all of the aforementioned qualities are why we have chosen her as our nominee for this year. |
